There is a common paradox: the more you care about your weight and the more you worry about how you're eating, the more you are likely to overeat.
As a dietitian, I do think it's essential to understand that what you eat can make a difference in your life. Foods do matter. But If you go on another diet, you're not going to end up thinner (well, maybe you will--temporarily), even though the diet might sound extremely convincing. It's easy to convince yourself that you are that one person who really will have success dieting. There are a lot of books that talk about diets, and these might work for a week or a month or even a few months, but diets aren't meant to be long term. Eventually you will get bored, or you will lose the weight and then stop trying, so you'll give yourself a break.........and.......... in the blink of an eye, the weight is back!!
When you eat and what you eat matters. However, if you don't also work with your thoughts about eating and your body, you won't get out of the weight loss cycle.
