Are you miserable with your current eating patterns, yet unable to change them? Are you fed up with dieting because it either doesn't work or you can't stick with it?
It is exhausting, depleting, and draining to feel trapped in a body you want to change but can't. To get to a place where you feel more in control over your eating you do need a roadmap. I am a Registered Dietitian with a large toolbox of therapeutic tools that I use to help people change their behaviors. It's about the food, but it's more about the behaviors. You need to work with both of these.
There is a paradox: the more you care about your weight and the more you worry about how you're eating, the more you are likely to overeat. For people with anorexia, it's the opposite.
If you have been dieting for a long period of time it can raise your body’s set point. Research study after research study has demonstrated that diets either don’t work at all or they work only temporarily. We all have a natural, intuitive ability to eat in a way that would be just right: not too much and not too little. Sometimes it's hard to figure how how to get to this place, so I do provide eating plans with structure for people when I feel the need. Eventually though, the goal would be to learn how to eat without a plan.
If you can achieve peace of mind around your body and your eating, imagine how much more available you can be to life. Imagine how your relationships will change and grow, and imagine what you can achieve and how much more free you will feel.
