I am a Registered Dietitian, an eating disorder clinician, and an integrative and holistic nutritionist. I help people with a wide range of eating and weight concerns or with any type of disordered eating. I am practical and goal oriented, and very behavioral in approach. I have a non-diet approach to working with weight concerns.
My education is from Cornell University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I have years of experience as a Registered Dietitian, advanced training as an Eating Disorder Clinician, a Master's Degree in Nutrition, certifications in Integrative/Holistic Nutrition and Adult Weight Management and am a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
I am a practitioner of internal family systems therapy (IFS).
I have also been influenced greatly by the work of Byron Katie, the teachings of the enneagram, the teachings of intuitive and mindful eating, teachings in 12 step programs and addiction, and DBT therapy. I am a longtime student of the spiritual practice known as A Course in Miracles. I am always curious and open to learning about new ideas and concepts in healing.
The way you think about your situation makes a big difference. I work on changing beliefs and thought patterns so you can change the way you eat.
To schedule an appointment or to ask specific questions about my services, you can use the form on the home page of this website or send me an email at betsy@betsythurstonrd.com.
I see people either in my Marietta, Georgia office or by video chat, such as facetime or skype, or by phone.
Learning how to change your relationship with eating can also change your relationship with everything.
My approach is practical. No nonsense. Results oriented.
